Chapman Tate Associates is proud to partner with a leading global enterprise to deliver a critical security enhancement project across their digital infrastructure. We are actively seeking experienced PKI Engineers to play a pivotal role in implementing and managing robust Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems and driving forward certificate lifecycle automation across a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure, scalable PKI architecture.
- Manage end-to-end certificate lifecycle processes, including automated discovery, issuance, renewal, and revocation.
- Support the adoption and integration of hardware-backed key containers, including HSMs and smart cards.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise around cryptographic libraries and interfaces (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle, Microsoft CNG).
- Work closely with internal engineering teams to guide secure usage of TLS/SSL, digital signatures, and encryption protocols.
- Build and maintain an enterprise-wide certificate inventory using automated scanning tools and inventory management platforms.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of hands on experience with PKI technologies and certificate lifecycle management (CLM).
- Deep understanding of TLS/SSL, encryption, and digital signature standards.
- Experience with PKI discovery/scanning tools and certificate inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of key and certificate stores such as PKCS#12, JKS, and Windows Cert Store.
- Hands-on experience using or supporting HSMs and smart cards in secure infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with cryptographic libraries and CLI tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle).
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills
- Experience in DevOps/CI-CD environments, ideally using tools like GitHub for automation and deployment.
- Exposure to secure development practices and coding/scripting languages.
- Experience implementing scalable, compliant solutions in collaboration with cross-functional security and infrastructure teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot certificate-related incidents in complex infrastructure.
