About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on International Financial Controller to lead financial operations across our European footprint. This high-impact role is essential to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and insightful reporting across entities in Poland, Netherlands, Italy, UK, Ireland, Denmark, and Germany. Reporting directly to the Group CFO and managing a team of 5 direct reports, this position requires regular travel across European sites and strong collaboration with local finance teams and senior business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation process for Tridon Europe entities in accordance with US GAAPs, IFRS and applicable local GAAPs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in ERP systems, aligning with group financial policies and timelines.
  • Oversee compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across all operating countries.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with external auditors and coordinate audit activities.
  • Ensure transfer pricing is documented, standard cost of IC items is set properly, and inter-company margin elimination is coordinated between related trading parties.
  • Oversee the use of One Stream by local controllers to accurately consolidate EU financials that ultimately roll up to the global group level.
  • Business Partnership & Performance Management
  • Collaborate with local and group leadership to provide financial insights, performance analysis, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support the development and consolidation of budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes across regions.
  • Develop and maintain effective cost control and margin analysis tools for manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Manage cash as needed between EU operations and corporate via inter-company and loans – utilizing a 13 week rolling cash forecast.
  • Private Equity Stakeholder Support
  • Prepare reporting packages and dashboards tailored to private equity ownership, including KPIs, working capital, and EBITDA performance.
  • Participate in M&A activities, post-acquisition integration, and value creation initiatives in collaboration with the Ideal Tridon Group and PE partners.
  • Process Optimization & Systems
  • Drive standardization and automation of financial reporting processes using ERP systems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls across finance operations in all locations.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and accurate data across systems, working closely with IT and operations teams.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 finance professionals; promote collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador and change agent, fostering alignment between group strategy and local execution.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) with at least 8+ years of financial leadership experience in a multi-national manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record working in a private equity-backed business or fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP B1 and other ERP systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAPs, local GAAPs (particularly UK, German, and Italian), and group consolidation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-border teams and drive process improvement across finance functions.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills in German, Italian, or Polish are advantageous.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel across European locations (25%)
